Elegance to me means quality with precision. You have the resources within you to achieve excellence, either as an individual or as a team. I aim to help you identify and apply these resources to achieve your best results quickly.
My name is Mark Chambers, and I have been a practicing GP in the United Kingdom since 1982. During my career as a Doctor, I have realized that people often have aspects of their lives that they would like to change, but do not know how to do it.
People often turn to the GP when conventional medicine does not have all the answers they are looking for. In medical issues my approach is complementary to conventional approaches, not an alternative. I help people find a way forward when the Evidence-Based Medicine approach has been exhausted. Patients want 100% answers for their particular situation. Simple medical approaches are sometimes not completely successful for such issues as chronic pain, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome ,migraine and unexplained symptoms. I help people find ways to optimize the benefits of therapy and minimize side-effects, as well as finding other ways to deal with these problems. Similarly I help them address such issues as anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, trauma, insomnia, bad habits and troublesome phobias.
In addition I help people relax and build confidence and motivation, so they can perform at their best whenever they wish, and develop the flexibility and resilience to deal with life’s challenges effectively.
I have been a GP in Suffolk since 1985. Throughout my career I have been interested in the psychological aspects of medicine. I started to study Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 1994 when I became involved with training new GPs. My interest initially was in communication skills and rapid rapport-building. This led me to study hypnosis and several Complementary skills to help people adjust and adapt to the changing demands and situations that life presents, to optimize their resilience and flexibility and to develop the ability to lead their lives to their fullest. In 2012 I completed a post-graduate diploma in Medical Hypnosis.
I have added the knowledge and skills I have obtained to my traditional medical repertoire and incorporated them in my General Practice work and training. I have been running a small, private Complementary Medicine Practice since 1994. In 2015 I reduced my NHS General Practice commitment to half-time and have been devoting more time to my private work and teaching since then, consulting in Suffolk and Harley Street, London, and assisting my friend and mentor, Kevin Laye, with his Psy-Tap trainings: very much at the leading edge of advances in effective and efficient contemporary intervention techniques.
In 2012 the Royal College of GPs elected me a Fellow of the College in recognition of my work in GP Training and my pioneering approach in introducing Complementary Therapies into everyday General Practice.
I have trained with Dr.Richard Bandler, the co-founder of NLP, and Paul McKenna. I have also trained with John Grinder and Carmen Bostic St. Clair in NLP modeling. More recently I have trained in Generative Trance with Dr.Stephen Gilligan. When therapy is necessary I have found Psycho-Sensory Techniques especially effective and have trained in Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Havening and EMDR, IEMT and VCART. These are all potentially quick and effective ways of dealing with many physical, emotional and psychological problems. I use a Mindfulness based approach to learning, with the aim of empowering people to generate powerful solutions to their challenges quickly, in an enjoyable and effective way.
The techniques I use and teach are simple and quick to learn. They have the added benefits of being free from side-effects, and easy to learn and master for yourself. This means that most issues can be dealt with in one or two consultations. These techniques do not conflict in any way with appropriate medical care, and are not a substitute for this. They can be a very effective addition.
I offer individual, group and corporate help and training. So if you keep making the same mistake over and over again, or have a habit you want to get rid of, or simply have an area in your life or business where you would like to make some improvements quickly and easily…
